Osun Targets N1 Billion Relief Funds

The alternate Chairman, Osun Food Relief Committee, Asiwaju Tunde Badmus on Wednesday disclosed that the 21-man relief Committee set up by the state government is targeting N1billion to provide relief materials for the people of the state.

Speaking on behalf of the Chairman of the committee, Pastor Enoch Adeboye at Osogbo, the Asiwaju Musulumi of yorubaland said that the committee already has N40Million at hand to commence the distribution of the relief materials.

Meanwhile, the State government also commenced the distribution of 6,020 bags of 50kg rice as relief material to the people of the state yesterday.

Flagging off the distribution, Governor Oyetola said government took the measures to mitigate the inherent effects of the lockdown on the people,

The Governor while speaking before the distribution at the Government Secretariat lawn said each of the 3010 polling units would get two bags to be distributed through the polling units chairmen.

However, Asiwaju Tunde Badmus who described himself as expert in the field of distribution of palliative disclosed that the relief materials from his committee would be distributed through Traditional rulers, Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), league of Imam, Organized labour and the two dominant political parties in the state.

 Adeboye started with N20m, “I also supported with N5m 20 tons of chicken worth N20M.

He, however, added that the committee already has the commitment of several other philanthropists to donate into its account, saying when such pledges are redeemed, there would be substantial amount in its account to reach more people.
