Forum of Finance Commissioners commend Ahmed’s reappointment

The Forum of Commissioners of Finance of Nigeria has congratulated the newly appointed Minister of Finance, Hajia Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed, saying it is well deserved.

Chairman of the forum and Kogi State Commissioner of Finance, Asiwaju Idris Ashiru, in statement in Lokoja said the reappointment and promotion is a reward for her hard work and diligence to duty.

He described Ahmed’s reappointment as substantive Minister of Finance, Budget and National Planning as putting a ’round peg in a round hole.

He said it would help in sustaining the achievements made by the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration in building a solid economy.

He added that but for her hard work and meticulous handling of the Finance Ministry in the first term, the President would not have added another ministry to her office.

“She’s a rare financial gem who has shown capacity and an embodiment of economic and development policies that helped bail the country out of the bad economic policies of the past. Her appointment is a blessing for the economic and finance sector,” he said.

The forum said it has no doubt in the continued capacity “and sagacity of Hajia Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed to deliver on her new assignment”, adding that as a financial expert of no mean standing, it it confident that she would surpass past records.

The forum expressed deep appreciation to President Buhari for the confidence reposed in the reappointed and elevation of Ahmed as minister of finance, budget and national planning, saying that she would justify it.

While wishing Ahmed s successful tenure as she brings in her vast experience to bear in the management of the nation’s financial sector, the forum prayed God to protect and guide her as she pilots the affairs of the ministry to enviable heights.
