The opening ceremony is under way in Pyeongchang even as North and South Korean athletes are marching together under a unified flag, guests include US Vice President Mike Pence and Kim Jong Un’s sister Kim Yo Jong.
With the help of 150 performers playing traditional South Korean drums, the nation’s flag is introduced and brought into the arena by Korean Olympians, including Ahn Byeong-keun — winner of judo gold for South Korea at the 1984 Olympics.

Team made up of Ngozi Onwumere, Akuoma Omeoga, Seun Adigun and Simi Adeagbo, will represent Nigeria in bobsled and skeleton respectively
one of which is a former sprinter at the University of Houston who ran for Nigeria at the 2012 London Olympics, Adigun, 31, will drive the first bobsled team to ever represent Africa at the Winter Olympics. In December, in the midst of training for PyeongChang, Adigun earned a masters degree in exercise and health sciences, as well as her doctorate of chiropractic.
